Dr. Sutter is a board certified medical specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, also known as a PhysiatristDr. Sutter uses a non-surgical approach to treat orthopedic conditions and injuries. His philosophy provides a unique integration of traditional musculoskeletal medicine, therapeutic exercise, and nutritional medicine: a lifestyle medicine approach to safely guide his patients to true healing, lasting good health, and higher levels of fitness.

Treatment Options

Injections
Trigger Point, Tendon Sheath, Ligament, Muscle Attachment and other Pain Management Injections        
Dr. Sutter utilizes a comprehensive examination to identify and inject painful muscles, tendons and joints.  By pinpointing pain generating areas and treating associated muscular patterns, pain relief is obtained and function is restored through sessions of injections in combination with rehabilitation therapies.

Myofascial Trigger Point:  A hyperirritable spot, usually within a taut band of skeletal muscle or in the muscle’s fascia that is painful on compression and that can give rise to characteristic referred pain, tenderness, and autonomic phenomena.

Therapeutic Exercises
Dr. Sutter’s expertise includes a vast arsenal of specific stretches and exercises and with personal instruction and routine implementation of these will promote your healing process. Dr. Sutter can also offer advice on specific exercises for your home program.

Exercise Prescription
The benefits of exercise are researched and scientifically proven to reduce many medical risk factors and improve energy.  Dr. Sutter prescribes personalized exercise to his patients taking into consideration their orthopedic and other medical challenges.  It is key to well-being and healthy aging.   Exercise is Medicine encourages physicians, the public, fitness professionals and patients to work together with this initiative.

Medicines
Medications may include over the counter and/or prescription medications when indicated.  Dr. Sutter also works with those patients, who are sensitive/intolerant of medications, to help in finding a treatment solution that works for them.  Topical medications are also used, including the science based Traumeel®, a combination of 14 natural active ingredients that are safe and effective.

Physical Therapy Prescription
Dr. Sutter will prescribe condition specific supervised strengthening and range of motion exercises often combined with certain modalities to enhance treatment.
